BlogDJ memories, Part 3 - sponsored by SuccessButler.com

Back with some more DJ Dave memories, from the HiFiWebGuy vault!

Men Without Hats are best known for their smash hit, "The Safety Dance". Yes, you can dance, if you want to. After that chart hit, the Men grabbed their Hats, and took off for half a decade. Today's post is of their other 1988 hit, "Pop Goes The World", which comes with a personal story built in.

I used to own this tiny little Casio keyboard. It was white, and I believe I had purchased it from the Sharper Image on a whim for, like, fifty bucks. Well, it was a neat little gadget, and I actually used it to record several songs back in 1986 (see the HiFiWebGuy.com site for a sample). One of the sounds it made was a chorus-like tone. Well, a few years later, Men Without Hats uses this same sound on the mid-song break of "Pop Goes The World", and the rest is...well...maybe it's not history, but the song is damn catchy.

So, enjoy, and don't forget to check out SuccessButler.com, featuring some serious audio and video tools!
